This section is an informal list of the results from discussions and workshops at various conferences on special events, regional events and festivals, plus any conference papers.
Text of Towards the Integration of Event Management Best Practice by the Project Management Process presented to the ACEM conference
To a seminar
of 60 regional towns event co-ordinators, I asked the question What are the
events and festivals that may grow in the next ten years?
The list below is the result.
Growing
Most of the participants commented that ANZAC and Australia Day were growing. One participant mentioned the growth of events linked with lifestyle TV programs- in particular the 'Wealth Creation' events. There was some debate over the future of the Agricultural and Field Days. Grey events refer to events that attract the retirees - e.g. mobile home exhibitions.
What is important about this list is that the participants are the people the most likely to create these events in regional Australia, so the list is a fair indicator of future trends.
