Feasibility Study

Below is the outline of headings for an event feasibility study. It is based on the ones I have done for various organisations including Murray Darling Basin Commission for the feasibility of events in the Basin for five years called Reading the Land, and the Australian Heritage Commission. A major element in a feasibility study is to provide a choice of various models for the event and discuss the implication of these models. Also linked to this page is an actual feasibility study.

Notes

The most important section of the event feasibility study is the comparison of the choices - options or models. There has to be some approximation in this part but it can give a quick overview of the points made in the study. The comparison must use the same aspects of the event.

An Option or event model matrix with the type of event across the top and the elements of the event down the side allows a quick comparison. These elements may be primary costs, target audience, promotion opportunities, possible partners/sponsors, significant risks.

A Feasibility Study example - There are numerous pages to this study including schedule, budget, flow chart and a recommended option - it is to be found on the CDROM
