Picnic ACEA had another picnic gathering at Bronte Beach Park in Sydney on Saturday, 8 October 2000. Many people attended the picnic. We received 2 applications for ACEA membership at the picnic. We had a good time and looking forward to having next gethering soon. Picnic The picnic organised by ACEA Committee on 13 June, 1999 in Parrammatta Park was very success. The weather in that day was not good, and even felt cold. However, we had about 20 families joined our picnic. We had a lot of fun and made some new friends. We also received 8 new applications for AECA membership ! We are looking forward to having next gathering. Members of the Association and their family gathered in James Yu's place on Saturday, 17 October 1998 from 7 pm to midnight. Every family brought some dishes for the dinner. We had lots of fun and ate delicious foods. We are looking forward to another gathering. Farewell and Welcome Reception for Science & Technology Consuls ACEA, Australian Chinese Engineers Association organised a Farewell and Welcome reception in Chatswood Terrace Peking Restaurant on Saturday, March 28, 1998, to farewell the outgoing Science and Technology Consul of the Consulate General of the PRC in Sydney He Liren, as well as warmly welcome he's successor, Consul Zhao Xiaolin. Consul He Liren has served about three years in Australia and has made a tremendous contribution to science and technology communities. Consul Mrs Liu Yongfang also attended the reception. Christmas Picnic A Christmas Picnic was held in Lane Cove National Park on Christmas Day, December 25, 1997 for the members of the Association and their families. More than 20 of families spent more than 4 hours at the picnic and we had big fun. Tea Party ACEA, Australian Chinese Engineers Association organised a meeting and seminars at the Community Centre, NSW Ethnic Affair Commission building in Ashfield, NSW on Saturday, November 15, 1997. Consul of Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Sydney, Mrs. Lui Yongfang; Consul (Science and Technology) Mr. He Liren; Consul (Education), Mr. Yang Xiaochun attended the gathering. Dr. Spencer Wu, Councillor of Ashfield Municipal Council and Ms. Katie Young, Vice President of Australia China Friendship Society (NSW branch), Vice President Chinese Australian Union also attended the meeting.
