1036 was fitted with a 4 ton bunker mounted coaling crane for a short period (around 1912 - 1914). 1036 spent time as shunter at Junee(1949), Taree(1951) and Enfield finishing her days at Junee. The locomotive was cut up at Cardiff during February 1966, the boiler was used to overhaul 1076.
During its time at Junee, 1036 carried its old number 23 and was known as "Fanny" (a name applied to a number of F class locomotives).

Century+ page 58 has a photo of 1036 bearing the number 23 and painted up for the 75th Anniversary of local government in Junee.
Byways of Steam 13 has numerous photographs of 1036 at Junee. Page 83 shows it in the roundhouse in 1961, also page 122 & 150 pages 144, 145 show three views of 1036 fallen into the Junee turntable pit in 1952 and being recovered by 1080. Page 146 has a photo of it at Junee station 1961.
Thompson's 38 page 21 has a small photo of Wagga 80th Anniversary celebrations. 1036 appears along with 3828 and 1243. Page 166 has a photo with part of 1036 visible taken 23/9/61.
Roundhouse July 1993 shows 1033 parked between the turntable and roundhouse at Junee ijn 1959. It is painted (probably green) and lined and carrie sthe number "23".
