The National Computer Science School

I am one of the Directors of The National Computer Science School (NCSS), a week long summer school for students going into years 11 and 12. NCSS brings together talented young people from around Australia for an intensive course of computer programming and website development in the School of IT at the University of Sydney.

To see what happens at a typical NCSS, check out our 2011 Newsletters, produced by Vanessa Moss and Thomas Kanold, or watch our video on YouTube.

The NCSS Challenge

I also run the NCSS Challenge, a 5-week programming competition in which about 1500 students from around Australia participate each year.

In 2010 NCSS won the Engineers Australia "Engineering Excellence Award" in the outreach category and the NCSS Challenge won a National iAward.
