Notes:

Hotspur, to be played by ……………., is to take on Hal (Prince of Wales, and soon to be Henry V). Though the two are roughly the came age, (in fact historically they weren’t but Shakespeare wont let that get in the way of a good story). Though the two are roughly the came age, Hotspur is an experienced and hard headed soldier, but Hal seems to have done nought with his life but carouse and drink sack with his fat friend Jack Falstaff.

This scene is the prelude to the turning point of the play. Until now we could have had no doubt that Hotspur will defeat our will o’ the wisp hero, but as we come upon this scene, Hotspur has just received a letter from one of his allies who has cold feet about the coming encounter. Hotspur, who has a shock of red hair, is proud and foolish and dismisses his concerns. Lady Percy (to be play by the beautiful ……………) describes her husbands recent hidden psychological turmoil. (See there is some relevance in all of this.)
