The purpose of this document is to create a framework for the relationship between the Events Unit of Council and the events that occur in the region. This framework enables:

• clear event support guidelines;
• a simple system to assess events that is closely linked to council objectives;
• a straightforward method for local events to apply for council support;
• a strategy for event development;
• accountability;
• a system for evaluating local events.
